Our client is an indigenous construction firm based in Lagos, Nigeria. They are looking to hire Mechanical Engineers with proven experience in developing, designing, building, testing, inspecting, and maintaining all mechanical components and systems.

Job Description for the Mechanical Engineer Role

The Mechanical Engineer will:

  • Project planning and analysis

  • Timely completion of projects

  • Developing cost estimates

  • Managing Construction Schedules

  • Overseeing technicians and craftsmen

  • Safety orientation for workmen on site

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports

  • Developing work breakdown structures

  • Preparing workshops and building drawings

  • Ensuring that projects are completed according to drawing specifications

  • Implementing operating procedures, resolving system malfunctions, and providing technical information

  • Following company guidelines for environmental sustainability practices and maintaining the company’s reputation by complying with regulations

  • Supervising electrical and technical activities during construction or operations activities at various locations.

  • Ensuring that all the works are done following the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project specifications, and applicable standards

  • Providing daily and weekly progress reports for all sites.

  • Dealing with major complaints, complex claims, and other problems of project stakeholders.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Computer literacy skills

  • Must be proficient in using AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project and Excel

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings

  • Must be able to work autonomously/independently

  • Experience in piping services, air conditioning design and installations.

  • Strong attention to detail

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum of HND upper credit or BSc. Second Class Lower

  • 3-5 years professional experience or minimum of 1-year relevant work experience post-NYSC
